How does SakuraCPD work?

SakuraCPD provides ready-made online CPD courses, resources and a simple structure to support professional development across your primary school.


Staff log in and complete their training online, working through videos, reflections and practical activities. School leaders can manage when courses are made available and track staff progress through the reporting tools.

Explore our range of online CPD courses and choose the training that best meets your school's priorities, whether that's whole-school development, a particular team or individual members of staff.
We offer one school leader three days of free access to a complete course, giving you the opportunity to explore the training and review the content before making a decision.
Professional learning, available when staff are ready for it.

Learn

We set everything up for you. Each member of staff receives their own login to access assigned courses through your school's dedicated learning page. Courses can be made available all at once or released gradually to fit your CPD calendar, such as one course each half term.
Staff learn at their own pace. Courses can be accessed anytime, anywhere, using a computer, tablet or phone. Each session takes approximately 45–60 minutes and combines instructional videos, evidence-informed research and practical classroom examples.
Give teachers space to think about their practice.

Reflect

Throughout each course, staff complete reflection journals that encourage them to consider their current practice, connect new learning with their own classroom and think about what they might do differently.
Their reflections are saved as they progress, and each learner can download their notes to keep as a record of their professional learning.
Take learning into the classroom.

Apply

At the end of each session, staff complete a short exit task designed to take the learning beyond the online course and into your school.
These practical activities encourage staff to try new approaches, put ideas into practice and consider how the learning works with their pupils, giving professional development a life beyond the online module.
Turn CPD into everyday professional conversations.

Discuss

SakuraCPD provides school leaders with an overview of each course, including key learning outcomes and suggested discussion points. These can be used alongside staff reflection notes and exit tasks to support conversations about professional learning.
Use PPA time, staff meetings, coaching sessions or one-to-ones to discuss what staff have learned and how they've applied it in practice. Explore what's worked well, any challenges they've encountered and what they might focus on next.
