Establishing clear and consistent behaviour expectations is essential for creating a calm, nurturing primary classroom where all pupils feel safe, valued and ready to learn.
Our Behaviour and Attitudes course supports educators in building positive routines and embedding a values-led culture that encourages kindness, respect and intrinsic motivation.
With a strong focus on early intervention and inclusive practice, it equips staff with practical strategies to guide behaviour, promote self-regulation, and support SEND and SEMH pupils in developing the resilience and independence they need to thrive. By shaping positive attitudes to learning early on, this approach strengthens classroom relationships and contributes to a supportive whole-school culture.
Course Structure
The
course is comprised of nine
structured sessions taught over 2 modules which can fit in to two half-terms. Each session combines presented content,
professional reading and research, alongside guided reflection activities that
support teachers in applying ideas directly to their classroom practice.
When to complete the course
The course can be completed at any point during the year, providing flexibility for schools and individual staff members. However, many schools choose to complete it during the early part of the academic year, when establishing strong routines and behaviour expectations can have the greatest impact.
Purchasing Options
Schools can purchase this course as a standalone programme for relevant staff members, or access it as part of our full academic-year professional development plan. This flexibility allows schools to choose the option that best fits their current priorities and wider staff development strategy.
How This Supports Your School Behaviour Policy
Even in schools with a well-established behaviour policy, this course provides valuable professional learning. Rather than promoting a specific policy framework, it explores the research behind behaviour, attitudes to learning and effective whole school practice.
This enables teachers to apply evidence-informed strategies within any existing school policy, ensuring that expectations are supported by strong relationships, inclusive approaches and a deeper understanding of pupil behaviour.
